Statement from Directors
Move Academy has developed a Code of Practice to establish and address its commitment to the maintenance of high standards in the provision of vocational education and training. Students are required to read and understand the Code of Conduct in conjunction with our Student Handbook before commencing your studies.
1. LEGISLATION
Move Academy complies with current legislative and regulatory requirements impacting on participants in training.
2. TERTIARY EDUCATION ORGANISATION
Move Academy ensures that all resources meet the requirements for success in the fitness industry. All assessment conducted within the organisation are competency based and includes examinations, practical applications and/or oral or written theory assessments.
3. RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING or RECOGNITION OF CURRENT COMPETENCE
Recognition of prior learning (RPL) is available to all clients. Applications for RPL must be submitted with supporting documents and candidates must satisfy the competencies of the unit being sought. Students will be charged an administration fee for the RPL process. Move Academy incorporates the principles of equity into all programs. Clients have equitable access to all programs irrespective of their gender, culture, linguistic background, race, location, socioeconomic background or disability.
4. LANGUAGE, LITERACY & NUMERACY
Move Academy recognises that all vocational training includes language, literacy and numeracy tasks. Where some clients require additional practice and training Move Academy arranges appropriate language, literacy and numeracy support.
5. ACCESS TO CLIENTS' RECORDS
Each client’s records are available to them on request. Clients’ records are not available to other people unless Move Academy is requested in writing by the client to allow such access.
6. BEHAVIOUR EXPECTATIONS
Move Academy endeavours to provide a learning environment supportive of group and individual learning. Clients are also expected to take responsibility for their own learning and behaviour during both on and off the job training and assessment. Any breaches of behaviour will result in the client being placed on disciplinary Procedures.
7. CLIENT WELFARE, GUIDANCE & SUPPORT SERVICES
All clients of Move Academy are treated as individuals and are offered advice and support services which assist clients in achieving their identified outcomes.
8. COMPLAINTS & APPEALS PROCESS
A fair and impartial appeals process is available to clients of Move Academy.
9. PRIVACY POLICY
Move Academy abides by the Privacy Act 1993 and the Information Privacy principles, see the Move Academy Privacy Policy.
10. ENROLMENT, INDUCTION & ORIENTATION
Move Academy conducts an enrolment, induction and orientation program for all clients. This program reviews the Code of Practice and all student services and relevant organisational procedures.
11. FEES & CHARGES
Fees quoted for Move Academy courses upon inquiry, are valid for a period of 14 days, and may be reviewed thereafter. Move Academy reserves the right to review and alter prices without prior notice. Fees can be paid either: Prior to commencement of the program by a “Pay As You Go” arrangement or a “pay upfront’ option; a portion of these fees will be accounted separately and not accessed until the course is completed.
12. DURATION
The course is to be completed within each allocated timeframe. The Diploma in Personal Training (Gym-Based) is to be completed within 15 months. Applications for cancellations or refunds must be in writing within 5 working days of this agreement, if a student wishes to withdraw they will be liable for a $500 administration fee. Any materials supplied must be returned and a declaration completed that downloaded course content is destroyed before the cancellation application can be finalised.
After five (5) working days, if a student wishes to withdraw they will be liable for the total payable amount of the course(s).
13. REFUND
There is no refund for cancellations beyond the 5 working days (cooling off period). Refer to the Move Academy Policies and Procedures for a full description. Applications for course transfers must be in writing and will be at the discretion of the Directors. Should a client default on a payment contract resulting in Move Academy placing the client in the hands of debt collector, the costs associated with debt collection, will, in addition to the outstanding fees, become the liability of the student.
